"I created this painting to express the absolute gratitude and joy that I feel when I'm painting in my studio. Last year in June I moved into the Gorman Arts Centre studios and it completely elevated my practice. Making this painting was very intuitive, with the goal being to encompass energy and fun with lots of expressive brushwork. At the same time, I wanted to there to be pockets of softness and calm, that contrast with the bold colours.
