Clay Hand Building Workshop

Join Emma from The Seasonal Ceramicist for a creative morning learning how to make and decorate two handbuilt stoneware items to enjoy in your homes.

In this class you will learn both pinch pot and slab building pottery techniques, and Emma will demonstrate how to combine these skills to make a bowl and a vase. You will then be able to choose two items you would like to make from a wide range of options. Emma will assist you to design and make your pieces.

The class format is very flexible and you will have a choice of clays to work with, plus options for how to decorate your work with texture and colour.

Emma will then take your work home to her studio to be dried, bisque fired, glazed, fired to 1220C and sanded. Your pieces will be available for collection from Meet Gather Collect within 4 weeks of your class.

This class is designed for complete beginners, but those with some experience with clay will be assisted to make more complex pieces if they wish to. You are welcome to bring an apron, but this class isn't messy, and everything you need will be provided for you. Please note that having very long fingernails can make it harder to work with clay, and nail polish is likely to come off during the class.

Morning tea will be provided. If you have any dietary requirements please let us know so we can try and accommodate you.

This class requires a minimum of 6 attendees to go ahead.

Please note: All safety and cleaning measures will be taken to keep everyone safe. If restrictions change or if we deem things to be unsafe, we will postpone the workshop to a later date. No refunds will be given as per our conditions.
